September 2016: Mr Frank Duggan, SKA Country Manager for Somalia visited the HQ of the Somali Air-Force to make a significant donation to the reconstruction of the Headquarters. Mr Duggan met with the Commander of the Air-Force, General Mahmoud and discussed the ongoing project and its significance for the continuing capacity enhancement of Somalia’s Armed Forces.
The Headquarters which is within the confines of Mogadishu International Airport will incorporate a building with a number of architectural features which have historic significance for Somalia and consequently any redevelopment needs to be handled sensitively the work needing to be conducted to a high standard with due consideration the preservation of the existing structure.
The donation from SKA Development will go some considerable way to ensuring that the construction work is carried out correctly, giving due deference to the cultural significance of the building.
This support is given as part of SKA Developments’ continuing drive to ‘Give Back’ in the areas where it conducts its activities.
