SKA Development is proud to announce that it has appointed Mr Abdi Dahir Abdi as the course tutor for its forthcoming Book Keeping Training Course. Abdi has had a successful career in Accountancy and Tax Management in Finland before return to his native Somalia to take up a post as a lecturer in Financial Accounting at the African University in Mogadishu.
SKA Development is running this course, as the area of financial compliance and transparency is one of the areas identified by many donor organisations as a priority which will help Somalia move forward with its overall development. The course will run for 6 Weeks which will leave to an accredited qualification in order to increase basic book keeping skills in Mogadishu.
Students for the course are yet to be selected and the aim is to offer opportunity to those young people who would otherwise have none. In order to ensure that this aspiration is met, selection of students will be overseen by SKA Development’s Head of Mission Somalia, Clive Trott and SKA International’s Country Manager Frank Duggan.
The Book Keeping Course is just one of the initiatives being funded by SKA International as part of its ‘Mission’ to ‘Give Back’ to the communities in some of the less developed regions of the world where it operates.
